Children Can Report About Cybercrime Through This Online Platform

Child victims of cyber crimes can now lodge their complaints at the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)’s POCSO e-box.

Developed by NCPCR, POCSO E-box was unveiled by Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi last year.

Considering the growing menace of cyber crimes targeting children, the NCPCR has now enhanced the scope of POCSO e-box to handle cyber bullying, cyber stalking, a morphing of images and child pornography.

Child victims themselves or their friends, parents, relatives or guardians can report cyber crimes by clicking on the E-box option available at the Commission's website, They can also register their complaints on email id: or mobile no.: +91-9868235077.

Once the E-box button is clicked, it leads to an animated video in which an elderly woman speaks in a compassionate way.

She begins by saying "NCPCR aapka dost hai" (NCPCR is your friend) and goes on to mention the various circumstances under which a child should file a complaint with them.

The animated video leads to another page with six pictures illustrating the kinds of harassment a child may have faced. The victim can select the appropriate image and fill in his/her details with a small description about his/her harassment.
